Item Details
Description
1941 Cadillac Series 62 4-door sedan. The 1941 Cadillac set a new sales record for the company even though sales got cut short by World War II. The U.S. entered the conflict on December 7, 1941. This Cadillac rested, not running, in a building in Indiana since 1984. In 2010 it moved to a farm in NE where the new owner brought it back to life. It has just over 81,000 well cared for miles on it. Recently it has made regular summer evening trips to town for ice cream! This Series 62 4-door sedan is factory original, look at the interior, and still runs and functions as it was intended. Should you choose, it's ready to be refreshed to your tastes and taken back on the road. According to Robert Tate, a well-known automotive historian and researcher, some designers who have studied Cadillac history consider the 1941 "one of the most cherished of American automobiles" with its record-breaking sales, major styling changes and firmly establishing the company's "strong and extremely successful styling identity." This all-new model established Cadillac as "America's ultimate automobile status symbol". Cadillac was still using its durable 346ci V8 engine, delivering 150hp. And the frame in 1941 was redesigned to give the cars a much smoother ride. Automotive designer Bill Mitchell was involved in all aspects of the Cadillac lineup in 1941 and this year marked the first use of the horizontal "egg-crate texture" grille. Cadillac sold over 66,000 cars in 1941, a record that was set previously in 1937. The Series 62 saw over 24,000 produced. The company was on a roll and this sedan will provide a classy "roll" for you as well. It has that great vintage Cadillac look and comfort. It's an "Easy Rider" and easy to drive with the Hydra-Matic transmission. This beauty is waiting for you to find that perfect summer evening and take your own trip to town for ice cream!
