Description
This is a monumental map by the US Corps of Engineers showing the details of the proposed way of linking Lake Michigan at Chicago with the Mississipi River. There are two map plans on this sheet. The plan on the left covers the area from Ashland Ave. to Polk Street and the other shows the area from today's Navy Pier to Ewing Street. A great Deal of detail is included -- streets, businesses, piers, lighthouse, railway yards, coal and brick yards, etc.
