Description
Central Asia, Northern India / Tibet, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A necklace of antique "Pema Raka" carnelian / banded agate beads strung on a cotton cord, pecked and polished into ovoid shapes. The terminal ends of the strand are knotted with a so called "Chinese staircase" pattern, and the necklace slips over the wearer's head. The beads may be much older than the cord and have nice signs of age with pitting and light mineral deposits. Size of strand doubled: 24" L (61 cm); largest bead: 1.5" L x 1" W (3.8 cm x 2.5 cm)

Condition
Chips and losses, pitting, and stable fissures on beads. Good antique / vintage condition. All are strung on a cotton cord with a knotted end. Wearable, but note the size, there is no clasp and necklace slips over the wearer's head.
