Description
Rare three piece set of 1800's Cumnock Pottery Motto Ware, from Ayrshire Scotland. The Cumnock pottery in existence from 1792 to 1920, with production of Motto Ware beginning around 1830, and so popular, many Scottish homes held pieces of this sgraffito style handmade pottery. All three pieces are in excellent condition, vibrant brown and toffee glazing all over. Noted the extra squiggles below the sayings, which are indicative of true Cumnock pottery. Real piece of history for the English ceramics collectors.
