Condition
The surface is overall stable. The colors have darkened somewhat. Craquelure throughout. There are restorations and in-painting visible under UV light throughout. There is a large restoration, possibly a tear, running horizontally from the upper left edge of the canvas through the top of the man's hair. This restoration measures approximately 19 inches. Other areas of in-painting include small spots to the man's face, the dog, the man's hand, and the lower left quadrant. There is a thick varnish which makes discerning all small areas of inpainting difficult. The painting has been relined. Light wear to the frame.
