Description
A 1978 engraved Black Beauty snare drum used in studios around the world and featured on dozens of records since the mid-80s until 2000, including The Pretenders, The Eurythmics, Simple Minds, Simply Red, 'Til Tuesday, The The and many more.
The drum was purchased by engineer and producer Bruce Lampcov in 1984 while working at famed New York recording studio, Power Station. Artists used the house kit for the "Power Station drum sound", which was a trend at the time.
This snare drum was also used at Bearsville Studio in Woodstock, New York with 'Til Tuesday, Simple Minds and The Pretenders. It was also used in Paris at Le Studio Grande Army with The Eurythmics.
Subsequently, the snare was used in many London studios including the original Air Studios in Studio A in Oxford Street with The Pretenders, Simply Red and The The.
Other studios in which the snare was used to record albums include Air Lyndhurst, The Townhouse, Metropolois, Olympic, The Garden, Basing Street, Strongroom, Whitfield Street, Eastcote, Maison Rouge, Mayfair, the Church and with sessions at Right Track, Sony, Hit Factory, Sear Sound, Record Plant and more.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from Bruce Lampcov which concludes, "all in all this baby has been recorded in many of the best studios in the world and plany by many of the world's best drummers."
