Description
A small primitive floor cupboard having 1 large and deep drawer over 1 door, scraped down to original blue-green paint with worn top. Older porcelain pulls which may not be original (one pull missing screw and is loose from it's base). Note- this cupboard likely converted from a dry sink as signs of hinges on back edge of top, else good condition. Circa 1800. Measures 33 3/4"W x 15 1/4"D x 30 3/4"H. Descended from the Reverend James Johnson family, Easton CT (Reverend Johnson, 1734-1810, graduate of Yale University). The Reverend Johnson homestead was constructed in 1760 and has been in the same family for over 7 generations. He was the first minister of the Congregational Church of Easton a position which he held for 40 years. The item(s) identified here, were once owned by the Reverend or a descendant.
