first half 19th century, 218 x 165 cm, Central Asia, North East Uzbekistan

This very rare Ura Tube suzani is one of the most beautiful surviving Uzbek silk embroideries. It was one of the favourite pieces owned by the famous collector, Ignazio Vok. In our second Vok auction held in 2016, it was purchased by a German collector who is now parting with it again due to age. We refer readers to our comprehensive discussion in the auction catalogue published at the time. The condition has remained unchanged since 2016.
