One gelatin silver print or original vintage photographic reproduction related to WWII and the Great Tokyo Air Raid from the archives of the Star Tribune depicting fliers David Jones and Travis Hoover receiving awards for bombing as the Tokyo Air Raid or “Doolittle Raid” on April 18, 1942. This raid was America’s initial response and retaliation against the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, prompting warfare which encouraged WWII.
Provenance: From the archives of the Star Tribune, established over 150 years ago, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
