Description
Pencil and gouache on paper light gray medium weight wove paper. Unsigned. The larger titled at the bottom of the image "Cod Fishing Off the ... " (last words indistinct, see photos).
The larger drawing depicts men in a small boat interacting with men in a larger sailing vessel ... possibly fishermen. The smaller drawing depicts several sailing ships and a light house in the distance.
Both are action packed and possibly attributable to James Duffield Harding (1798-1863), a British artist who worked in this style.
SIZE: 6.5" x 8.5" (16.5 cm x 21.5 cm)
and 5.5" x 7.75" (14 cm x 19.5 cm)
