Nice Mexican handmade folk art painted pottery cat. Signed "A. Jimon - Mexico". Circa 1960s.
Sitting upright and decorated with painted, fired, burnished designs and features. This feline is depicted in a naive manner and has a great expression. The body has painted panels of flowers, plants and a white bird in a landscape.
HEIGHT - 13 3/4" (35 cm)
PROVENANCE : San Francisco estate.
NOTES / REFERENCES : The Jimon family is well-known for their work in pottery in Tonala.
