Both are signed on the bottom, impressed before glazing, CATALINA ISLAND.
Arts and Crafts / Monterey Spanish Revival style, formed from white clay and covered with a thick matte green glaze. Descanso Green.

NOTES / REFERENCES: Catalina Clay Products (Catalina Island Pottery) operated from 1927 to 1937. From 1927 to 1929, during the period the Casino was being built utilizing building materials manufactured by the company, the factory produced about 18 small souvenirs. From late 1929, to about November of 1933, they produced pottery pieces made using the Catalina Island native red clay. Beginning in late 1933 until the pottery closed in1937, the factory produced pottery using imported white clay. The plant shut down on February 3, 1937.
