Folklore was Taylor Swift's eighth studio album, surprise-released on July 24, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Swift converted her Los Angeles home into a recording studio to record her vocals, while producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner worked from their own remote studios in New York. The album is a departure from previous pop productions and features a mix of mellow ballads with indie folk and alternative rock sounds. It became the best-selling album of 2020, spending eight weeks atop the US Billboard 200, and went on to win a Grammy for Album of the Year. In 2023, Rolling Stone included "Folklore" on their revised list of 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
