BIOGRAPHY:
Catalan artist, representative of romanticism and early impressionism in painting.Ramon was born in Barcelona in 1838. He was the son of a wealthy merchant. Received art education in Barcelona, Madrid and Rome. Was under the creative influence of Mariano Fortuny, was a student of Ramon Marti y Alsin. The works of Ramon Tusquets y Magnon were exhibited in galleries in Madrid, Naples, Turin, Paris, Vienna and other cultural centers of Europe.In 1870, he forms the Barcelona Artists' Union, together with such masters as Modest Urghel, Luis Graner, Josep Maria Tamburini, Anthony Caba and Joaquim Vayeda. Many canvases by Ramon Tusquets y Magnon are devoted to the history of Catalonia, as well as the history of Spain and Italy (he spent a long time in the latter). Participated in international exhibitions. In 1877 he exhibited in Naples. In 1876 he took part in the World Exhibition in Vienna and in 1878 in Paris.
