Description
Cast brass, likely English or French, c. Early- to Mid 19th Century. Each with two roaring winged lion heads over paw feet, featuring spiral-twisted baluster-form stems and pierced globes and crowned with onion and acorn finials. Dimensions: H 40" x W 19.75" x D 14.5" Condition: Original finish appears to have been bright, polished brass; andirons previously painted - now showing distressed and heavily patinated finish. A few small drill holes to brass. Oxidation to iron legs.
