Description

DESCRIPTION: Antique 875 silver priests or bishops pectoral cross with necklace depicting Christ crucified and surrounded by various phrases/words in Cyrillic script. Verso bears an inscription paraphrasing 1 Timothy 4:12, a customary feature of this Orthodox vestment. Marked on verso of pendant with Russian hallmarks including kokoshnik mark (including maker's mark, likely of Dmitrii Aleksandrov Pastukhov); necklace links are also hallmarked. When laid out to its full length, necklace (without pendant) measures 22.5". Total weight: 162 g.
