Ancient Near East, Syria, Middle Bronze Age, ca. early 2nd millennium BCE. A fine copper figure, likely a deity, depicted nude save for a flattened cap and standing atop articulated legs with arms bent at elbows and hands on chest. His minimalist visage is comprised of recessed eyes beneath a heavy brow and a prominent nose, all flanked by a pair of sizable ears. The tang extending from his feet suggests he was intended to be mounted. Size: 1" W x 3.2" H (2.5 cm x 8.1 cm); 3.9" H (9.9 cm) on included custom stand.
