Description
Pennsylvania Currency
March 16, 1785 Pennsylvania 20s PMG Very Fine-20
Pennsylvania. March 16, 1785. 20 Shillings or One Pound / $2 2/3 "Dual" denominated. PMG graded Very Fine-20.
Fr. PA-272. A choice example of this 20s highest denomination note on this issue. It is whole, solid, and complete. Special "PENNSYL-VANIA" watermark in its period paper, as custom made. Clean and attractive for its PMG VF-20 with all eight full margins present both face and back providing choice centering. All major design elements are clear and the reverse "Nature Leafs" are clearly detailed. Its PMG holder states stains, which appears far too critical, as shown. All three signatures are are sharp and darkly penned in red and brown ink including; Peter Baynton, John Chaloner, and Samuel Caldwell. A pleasing circulated collectable note with eye appeal.
