Purchased on January 23, 1968 from A.P. Clark Motors in Orlando, Florida for $3469.70. A southern car fastidiously maintained by original owner; all documents from new to include the window sticker, build sheet, owners manual with Certicard, mileage journal from new with all repairs/services logged, and receipts and notes from ownership; a note documenting a parking lot incident at an Oceola, Florida racetrack in 1968 when the car was new. The repair is evident today. A minor paint repair was also performed on the passengers door, evident by the masking. This car has never been wrecked or repaired other than these incidents.
Henry Horne and Hayden Beatty were brothers-in-law, as they married sisters. Their love of cars, racing, and their wives, is apparent. Henrys wife, Jo illustrates this in a poem she wrote for their 20th wedding anniversary. The engineer in Henry is illustrated by the notes he made, and the care of the vehicles he owned. Racing in SCCA events around the South in the late 50's and early 60's Henry and Hayden had a blast sharing their lives in an Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite and MG's. One of the MG's owned by Hayden was sold by us in 2020. The numerous trophies and notes referencing racetracks in Florida, and the early days of the internationally acclaimed VIR racetrack in Virginia provide the proof of their purpose to just have fun doing what they loved.

Condition
In mostly original condition with a recent professional detail to include engine bay, interior steam clean, and exterior polish; no information on last service, but all fluids appear new and clear; radiator with evidence of small leaks; new battery and ground cable, rubber fuel line replaced; belts are aged; included note tells of a replacement A/C compressor being salvaged from a work truck, and installed in car. Probably not the original. The same note tells of six water pump failures until1998; Although the factorytires dated 07' and in good condition with ample tread 7-8mm: chassis shows surface rust, and frame and body are solid; some additional steel appears to be welded to frame rails. Detailed notes documenting "body deflection" and receipts for appropriate sized steel suggest the intentions of adding the steel were for enhancements; ham radio antenna mount remain; mounts and cables from a ham radio remain; evidence of the radio mounted to dashboard, with slight cracking and adhesive marks; separation of seams in both front seats; paint is thin in places and primer is showing; small area in rear cargo area with carpet missing; white vinyl stripe was replaced a few years ago; runs and drives great with no other apparent concerns.
