Description
A John Wayne Set of Toiletry Bags and Items, 1960s-1970s. Both of standard design with a zip closure and a carrying handle; one made of olive green pleather, the other black pleather; both contain a number of Wayne's personal care items such as combs, electric and regular razors, razor blades, lather shave cream, a shaving brush, a tooth brush, toothpaste, a small mirror, baby powder, a travel hair brush (printed on the back "A Personal Gift from Cary Grant"), hair tonic called 'Eau de Quinine,' and after-shave lotion called 'Lilac Vegetal,' among a few other manly grooming accoutrements.

These items were originally sold in the Heritage Auctions (Los Angeles) auction titled "The Personal Properly of John Wayne," Sale 7045, October 6-7, 2011, Lot 44521, final price realized was $1,792.50; included is the original COA from Ethan Wayne, John Wayne's youngest son.
