Description
Unique hand carved wooden box with double doors medicine or tobacco leaves standing cabinet originates from the Dogon tribe. Vintage piece around 40 to 60 years old. It stands on three legs with a latch. High relief carved figures of the Nommos on the door to evokes health and longevity. The head sculpture on the top serve as protection figure. The carvings are made by the village artisans that are believe to have magical powers. Size approx. 15" H by 4" W by 2.5"D.
